Market Ontology

Event-to-Asset Mapping

Market Ontology converts every live macro, policy, and geopolitical event into the specific assets it touches - tickers, ETFs, sectors, rates, credit, FX, commodities, and options - through a four-stage transmission chain instead of a headline summary.

From headline to affected asset

Each event resolves to the underlyings and macro nodes it actually moves. No generic takes - just the read-through across rates, credit, FX, commodities, equities, and options.

Four-stage transmission

Physical or macro driver → financial conditions → sectors and styles → tickers and structures. The same chain that powers AM Edition powers the map: every step is sourced and auditable.

Use it inside a workflow

Event-to-asset feeds the Oil Shock Read-Through, Rates / Credit Move, Policy Impact, Causal Impact, and Options workflows so the same event lands in the right desk-level process.

Watchlist and portfolio overlap

Add tickers, ETFs, sectors, countries, or themes. Mapped events surface what overlaps your book first, so the morning ranks events by what hits you - not by social volume.

Coverage

Rates, credit, FX, commodities, equities, options intelligence, central banks, policy, geopolitics, trade, sanctions, supply chains, energy, labor, inflation, and liquidity - one canonical map grounded in primary data.

Where this does not hold

  • Mappings are directional transmission paths, not point forecasts or expected returns.
  • Second- and third-order links weaken as the chain lengthens; the further the stage, the wider the uncertainty.
  • An event with no published data trail is not mapped rather than being mapped speculatively.

What confirms this

  • Assets named at stage one move before assets named at later stages.
  • The magnitude ordering across the mapped assets holds.

What invalidates this

  • The mapped assets do not respond while unmapped assets carry the move.
  • The underlying event is revised or withdrawn.

Next observable

The next event ingested into the intelligence feed and traced through the transmission chain. (Continuous)
